Or, there's always gift certificates to a spa or something for a manicure, etc. I'm not sure what you're looking to spend per teacher....let me know, and I'll see what else I can come up with. posted by: themarina (reply) post date: 06.13.05 (8:28 am) gift certificates are always winners. especially to movies. i always enjoy that. posted by: themarina (reply) post date: 06.13.05 (8:28 am) oh yeah, and sending you vibes. sounds like you need a few more days off! For the love that He shares, coz he listens to my prayers, that's why I say thanks everyday... because a Thankful heart is a happy heart... I'm glad for what I have - that's an easy way to start. For the love that He shares for he listens to my prayers, that's why I say thanks everday!" -- Veggie Tales, Madame Blueberry episode posted by: lynne (reply) post date: 06.13.05 (2:55 pm) My goodness that is a lot to do. Whew. FWIW, my sister is a teacher and she gets lots of gifts. I think she appreciates all of them but she likes the gift certificates the most I think. Personally, if I had kids, I would get all the teachers booze cos they would need it! posted by: JT (reply) post date: 06.13.05 (3:25 pm) Reply to: lynne Good to know, especially since I'm getting the one guy gift certs for sure. My friend Jennie has come to the rescue for the womens' gifts -- she manages a lovely spa and has recommended some great products for me to get. She got me addicted to the Aromafloria "Sleep Ease" bath stuff, so she knows whereof she speaks! posted by: JT (reply) post date: 06.13.05 (3:25 pm) Reply to: jennjr I love the coffee mug idea -- may use that for holiday gifts next year. It's so freakin' hot and sticky in Chicago I can't even fathom it! posted by: JT (reply) post date: 06.13.05 (3:25 pm) Reply to: themarina Oh, movie certs -- didn't even occur to me! Great idea! posted by: JT (reply) post date: 06.13.05 (3:26 pm) Reply to: themarina You can say that again!!! posted by: jennjr (reply) post date: 06.14.05 (3:31 am) Reply to: JT I can relate...hot coffee.....99 degree day....99 percent humidity...ugh! posted by: Orange (reply) post date: 06.14.05 (3:56 am) Not to be a bitch, but you *could* streamline things a bit by skipping the roses and gifts for the teachers and just do the meaningful notes. Or get Target cards for them—I did that one year, and I was going to Target anyway so it took no extra time. You thinking about $10 per teacher? posted by: JT (reply) post date: 06.14.05 (5:07 am) Reply to: Orange Bitch!!! (How does that suggestion make you a bitch, Orange?) Yeah, I would have loved to do the flowers because it's such a sweet thing but it was a fleeting thought indeed... Jennie is dropping off my spa things tonight, and I'll swing by a bookstore for a GC for the one guy (who, frankly, is a little cuter than I think a teacher ought to be). posted by: 11thACR (reply) post date: 06.14.05 (10:26 am) My....OLD PAL......JT....... |
