Two topics:

1. My dreams last night featured as a headline me looking in the mirror in a locker room full of overly-tanned, very thin women (who looked like my high school's pom-pon squad) and discovering that my eyeteeth were missing. Not just missing, but like broken off. Really creepy. And all those girls' tans were too dark and streaky. They all had long, 80's permed, dark hair and creepy, soul-less expressions. (Much like how they were in high school, I guess.) But the teeth-missing thing really freaked me out. I think that missing teeth in dreams equates to financial concerns, but I can't remember.*

2. For the moms out there, or dads intimate with their wives' preferences.... I'm considering the rather pricey purchase of one of these. For the last two pregnancies, I used an Aveda hand pump, which worked fine for the first one, but didn't help much on my second. I pumped for six months with Jake, but barely had enough for just under three months with Danny. Opinions, please?

["Bad Girls," Donna Summer]

*Edit: My mom the shrink says teeth equate personal power and appearance. So if I'm missing teeth in my dreams, I have no "bite;" no ability to defend or assert myself. Sounds like my job, don'tcha think? So maybe it's all figured out, but it's still really creepy.

I would definitely recommend the Medela Pump In Style. My sister has one of these and she says it is great. Personally, I couldn't afford it so I purchased one by The First Years

http://www.thefirstyears.com/products/product.asp?pValue=1189

and it works good for me, however, I wish that I had purchased a double rather than single pump for use at work. I also have a Medela hand pump that I use occasionally that works pretty good as well.

i used a medela as well and loved it. I rented it from my local pharmacy. When I couldn't afford that anymore I used an electric pump by evenflo. It was tricky but worked great once you figured out the tricks.
I loved the statement "Feels the most like your baby" The entire reason I used a pump was because it felt NOTHING like the baby, pumping was pain free. LOL
When my milk started to run low I also was given a perscription for domperidon. Three days on that stuff and I had enough milk to feed a small village.

Thank you for the "feels nothing like baby" comment as well as the info on potential prescriptions. I think I've mentioned before that I didn't enjoy breastfeeding. I wish I did; I know several people who did. I felt awkward and uncomfortable and certainly never got to the point of doing it in front of anyone else -- even my husband. Pumping made much more sense to me. It also means that other people can feed the baby, thus sharing the bonding experience (DH) or helping care for him (nanny).

Yeah, I hear the double-pumping is so much better. I always had to stuff my bra on one side while I pumped the other!

I have a hand pump that I still use occasionally, but pumping feels so mechanical to me. I guess I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I love breastfeeding.

Avent Isis is what I use.

The Medela is what some friends who pumped a lot used. They loved it.
