... I'm taking suggestions for boy names. We prefer basic, biblical-type names. My boys are Jacob and Daniel -- see a trend? I already have a secret girl name I love so I'm cool there.

["In Da Club," 50 Cent]

Joshua. Herod? Cain! Hmmm... Ishmael? Isaac? Israel is always nice.

I know it's new testament, but since you've already got Jack Daniel's, how about Johnny Walker?

If you name him Cain, that would cover Maker's Mark. Hmmm...

Aaron, Bejamin, Caleb, David, Elijah, Eliot, Ethan, Ezra, Gabriel, Isaac, Jared, Jason, Jeremy, Joel, Jonathan, Joseph, Justin, Matthew, Michael, Nathaniel, Noah, Raphael, Saloman, Samuel, and Zachary would be my faves

Stay away from Benjamin. Not only is it already taken by my kid, but it's gotten much too common lately.

Is Amos a biblical Name??
I like that one. My brother's names are Joseph and Joshua and the other brother has the middle name 'Thomas'...
We always had trouble with boys names- we both though of many but could agree on none.

Oh my word, I never realized the Jack Daniel's thing. That's so funny. My first memory of Jack Daniels was an older girl on the bus home from Interlochen telling me that she was sick because she "had a battle with JD and lost."

I suppose Chivas isn't a biblical reference...

Yeah, I always liked Benjamin but my mom told me the same thing. And then there was a Ben in Jake's class this year that I didn't like, and it ruined it for me...

I love Joseph, Joshua and Thomas! The hard thing is, I love J names but we're out of control with the J's in my family. DH and I are both J's, and then we had Jacob. (Family name.) My cousin has Julia and Jacqueline, and my brother is Jonathan. It just gets out of control.

And the really silly part? I don't want Danny to be the only non-J in an all-J family.

And I can't bear to be that cutesy alliterative family, either.

So damn it.

This is going to make you sick (well a little more sicK) My name is Jennifer and my siblings names go like this:
Jessica
Joseph
Joshua (middle name David)
Jeffrey (middle name Thomas)
and to top it off my Mom's name is Joanne. Joseph is a family name so there are far too many 'Joes' in my family.
My poor Dad's name is Allan.

Well, hell. That's a lot of J'.s But there are so many cool J-names! And I love Jessica for a girl -- my mom almost named me Jessica, but changed her mind at the last minute (damn it). So I would do Jess for a girl, except for my argument above.

Argh.
